Easy Sewing Tutorial - Ocean Game "Find my Best Friend" on Fabric

Deutsch

Create your fabric game board in just a few steps!

You will need:

-       A sewing machine and sewing thread

-       Any piece of fabric for the underside (Size approx 53 x 45cm / 21 x 18 inch)

-       Fabric scissors or rotary cutter

-       Measuring tape

-       Bias tape for the hem (I used 20mm with a length of 3.5m)

-       A fat quarter of the fabric "Find my best friend", which you can get in my Spoonflower shop. The fabric will be printed eco-friendly in Berlin or the USA and shipped to your home within a few days. Important: choose the size Fat Quarter (52.5 x 45 cm = 21 x 18 inch) and the fabric "Petal Signature Cotton". (Fat Quarter sizes vary depending on the fabric you choose)

Step 1:

Wash the two pieces of fabric, iron them and lay them on top of each other. Now cut along the marking of the game board with scissors or rotary cutter.

Step 2:

Wrap the bias tape around the edges of both fabrics (see picture below). Attach the tape with pins. If you want to be sure that nothing slips, tack along the edges.

Step 3:

Now sew everything together. Use a straight stitch and place the foot on the outer edge of the hem. Align the needle position so that you sew through all the pieces. Sew around the outer edge and double stitch about 3 cm at the end.

Step 1: Cut the two pieces of fabric to the same size

Step 2: Attach the bias tape to the outer edge

Pin or clip the tape to the two materials as shown above

Step 2: If you want to be sure that nothing slips, tack along the edges by hand

Step 3: Sew everything together with the sewing machine

Horaz! Your own fabric game board is ready!

Step 4: optional

Make a few game pieces. For example, decorate some stones by painting them or even sticking stickers on them.

Et voilà! Your personalised fabric game "Find my best friend" is ready! You can find the game instructions HERE.
